Draft CCE Accreditation Standards

Call for Comment

As part of its commitment to continuous improvement, the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE) periodically reviews and updates its accreditation Standards and Policies. During this review, and in accordance with CCE Policy 23, Authority, Responsibility and Action Regarding CCE Standards, if the Council determines that the Standards are no longer in compliance with USDE or CHEA requirements/criteria or determined to be confusing or lacking clarity, the Council has a responsibility to revise the Standards. Finally, per 34 CFR § 602.21(c) (Review of Standards), any such action must be initiated within 12 months.
The currently proposed revisions have been informed by feedback received during the Council’s recent federal recognition review; ongoing monitoring of regulatory expectations; and developments in the current negotiated rulemaking process.

To support the revision process, in accordance with CCE Policy 23, the Council must provide a written revision of the affected portion of the Standards only, which shall be disseminated and posted to the CCE website for at least 60 days to allow an opportunity for interested constituents to submit public comments for review by the Council prior to approval.

Therefore, CCE invites the submission of public comment to the “May 1, 2026, Proposed Limited Revision” of the CCE Accreditation Standards for review and action by the Council at its July 2026 Meeting.  All comments must be received through the link provided on the CCE website; comments submitted via any other mode of delivery will not be considered.
 
Public comments intended for consideration by the Council at the July 2026 meeting must be received no later than 4:30 pm (PDT) on June 30, 2026, in the CCE Administrative Office.

Organizations receiving this announcement are encouraged to notify their constituents about the opportunity for public comment.
